We increasingly experience space as projected & animated artificial light.

How might we utilize the contemporary concept of time & space that has resulted from our expanded engagement with these digital spaces, to expose hidden space in our progressively more confined, physical environments?

This question launched my pursuit.

We cannot always use architectural means to alter our spaces significantly. As a beginning, I started within the dense urban fabric & the constrained physical spaces of the apartments we inhabit in the city. Considering the window as interface between the limited interior space & the vast space of the exterior, and the perceptions as the interface between the extremely intimate space of the inner human & the space outside the self, these passages presented the opportunity to affect change significantly. Through investigating ways to utilize and modify these passages, using simple minimal designed objects of translation and conveyance, I intervened in the space.

Overall, this design research was focused on ways to enact spatial expansion, by bringing the ambiance of the exterior world into the interior space.
