L'ENSCI, L'ENSAD ET L'ACADÉMIE D'ART DE CHINE
L'ENSAD, l'ENSCI-Les Ateliers et l'Académie d'Art de Chine s'associent sur « un atelier de projet
franco-chinois » à Hang Zhou en Chine. Encadrés par Bernard Moïse et Florence Doléac, 5 élèves
de l'ENSAD et 5 de l'ENSCI ont rejoint 10 élèves chinois de la CAA pour cet atelier de projet mené
en partenariat avec la société Alibaba, géant du numérique implanté à Hang Zhou.
UNE NOUVELLE FORMATION POUR 2020 : UN MASTER OF SCIENCE À L'ENSCI
Proposée par la Formation Continue de l'ENSCI et intitulée Nature-Inspired Design, cette
formation a pour objectif de réinventer la pratique de professionnels et jeunes diplômés
(designers, architectes, ingénieurs...) en empruntant les mécanismes et les stratégies de la
nature, ses matières et ses process. Cet enseignement dispensé en anglais et d'une durée de 18
mois sera dirigé par Guillian Graves, designer et diplômé de l'ENSCI.
L'ENSCI A INAUGURÉ LE GRAND BAIN, SON INCUBATEUR DE DESIGN
L'ENSCI a mis en place un incubateur de design destiné à favoriser les pratiques
entrepreneuriales de ses élèves et de ses jeunes diplômés.
Concrètement, le Grand Bain valorise le rôle, l'impact et les travaux de designers de l'ENSCI dans
des projets d'entrepreneuriat et d'innovation en associant un designer de l'école à un porteur de
projet extérieur. Une petite dizaine de designers de l'ENSCI bénéficie déjà de l'accompagnement
de cet incubateur.
DES PRIX…
UNE MÉDAILLE D'OR POUR L'ÉQUIPE IGEM PASTEUR LORS DES REMISES DE PRIX DU
CONCOURS À BOSTON
La 3e édition du concours IGEM s'est clôturée avec une médaille d'or pour le projet "NeuronArch"
de l'équipe interdisciplinaire Pasteur Paris 2018 qui inclut, cette année, des élèves du mastère
spécialisé Création et Technologie Contemporaine de l'ENSCI encadrés par le designer Guillian
Graves.
En parallèle, le premier projet "MOS(kit)O" (2016), conçu par une autre équipe Pasteur Paris avec
cette fois des élèves en Création Industrielle de l'ENSCI, et également récompensé d'une
médaille d'or il y a 3 ans, est en cours d'incubation dans le "Grand Bain", l'incubateur de design de
l'ENSCI.
TROIS MENTIONS SPÉCIALES AU BRAUN PRIZE 2018 HONORENT L'ENSCI
Le Braun Prize, qui a lieu tous les trois ans, a fêté ses 50 bougies en 2018 avec le thème : “Design
for what matters”. Reem Saleh, Guillaume Jandin (diplômé en 2015) et l'équipe ENSCIenne Xavier
Montoy, Lisa Dehove, Charlène Guillaume ont chacun reçu une mention spéciale pour leur projet.
L'ENSCI ET DESIGN PARADE : UNE AFFAIRE QUI DURE
Parmi les 10 finalistes choisis par le jury de Design Parade, à la Villa Noailles, cette année, figurent
deux diplômés ENSCI en Création Industrielle : Pablo Bras et Alexandre Willaume.
VILLA VILLA RÉUNISSAIT À MARSEILLE LES RÉSIDENTS DES VILLAS MEDICIS, KUJOYAMA
ET CASA VELAZQUEZ
Villa Villa proposait de voir le travail des résidents de ces trois villas autour de la thématique : Les
frontières. Claire Lavabre, diplômée en Création Industrielle (ENSCI), pour la Villa Medicis,
Laureline Galliot & Mathieu Peyroulet-Ghilini diplômés en Création Industrielle (ENSCI) pour la
Villa Kujoyama, représentent la catégorie design de ces résidences pour l'année 2017/2018.
QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING – CATEGORIE « ART ET DESIGN »
L'ENSCi arrive au 1er rang des établissements français de formation - catégorie "Art et Design" -
au classement annuel mondial QS (QS world University Rankings). Par ailleurs, Le Monde,
L'Étudiant, Étapes, France Inter ... - ont promu nos diplômés et, par extension, la renommée de
l'ENSCI.
DES RENCONTRES…
DESIGN SOUTENABLE ET CULTURE DU PROJET À L'INSTITUT CULTUREL ITALIEN
L'Institut Culturel Italien à Paris, en collaboration avec l'ENSCI-Les Ateliers et avec le soutien de la
Délégation permanente de l'Italie auprès de l'OCDE, a accueilli, en mars dernier, une table ronde
intitulée "Design per la sostenibilita e cultura del progetto".
Frida Doveil, Ezio Manzini et François Jegou ont échangé sur le développement durable aux
niveaux matériel, social et culturel, ainsi que sur la notion de culture du projet chère au design
italien des années 80.
DES PROJETS SOCIAUX…
UNE RADIO MOBILE À CALAIS
En collaboration avec France Culture et Radio France, ce projet dirigé par Roland Cahen, a permis
à 14 élèves de l'ENSCI de proposer un prototype fonctionnel de radio mobile, destiné aux camps
de migrants à Calais. Une fois réalisé et testé, le prototype fonctionnel a été remis auprès des
bénévoles du Secours Catholique et de l'Accueil de jour à Calais afin d'enregistrer la première
émission live par les réfugiés le 31 janvier 2018.
"RÉCIT PRO-CITÉ", UN WORKSHOP D'INNOVATION SOCIALE MENÉ AVEC DES ÉLÈVES EN
BANLIEUE PARISIENNE
L'association LKEcowork, fondée par Laure Kuntzinger, porte un projet d'intégration sociale dans
un espace de 200 m2 situé dans un quartier de Malakoff en banlieue parisienne. Trois missions :
soutien scolaire, intégration professionnelle, intégration sociale par le sport. Le public adhérent
de l'association : des mamans, des enfants et des adolescents.
L'idée de ce workshop avec des élèves de l'ENSCI encadrés par le designer Philippe Comte :
comprendre l'association à travers et avec ses usagers pour tenter d'améliorer son organisation,
son fonctionnement et mettre en valeur ses adhérents. Bref, du design avec des notions de
transmission et d'économie de moyens.

SOME NEWS…
ENSCI, ENSAD AND THE CHINESE ACADEMY OF ART
ENSAD, ENSCI-Les Ateliers and the Chinese Academy of Art are partnering on a
"Franco-Chinese project workshop" in Hang Zhou, China. Supervised by Bernard
Moïse and Florence Doléac, 5 students from ENSAD and 5 from ENSCI joined 10
Chinese students from CAA for this project workshop conducted in partnership
with Alibaba, a digital giant based in Hang Zhou.
A NEW PROFESSIONAL COURSE FOR 2020: A MASTER OF SCIENCE AT ENSCI
Proposed by ENSCI's Continuing Education Department and entitled Nature-
Inspired Design, this course aims to reinvent the practice of professionals and
young graduates (designers, architects, engineers, etc.) by using the
mechanisms and strategies of nature, its materials and processes. This 18-month
course, taught in English, will be led by Guillian Graves, designer and graduate of
the ENSCI.
ENSCI INAUGURATED « LE GRAND BAIN » ITS DESIGN INCUBATOR
ENSCI has set up a design incubator to promote the entrepreneurial practices of
its students and young graduates.
In concrete terms, "Le Grand Bain" enhances the role, impact and work of ENSCI
designers in entrepreneurship and innovation projects by associating a designer
with an external project leader. About ten designers from ENSCI already benefit
from the support of this incubator.

GOLD MEDAL FOR THE IGEM PASTEUR TEAM AT THE BOSTON COMPETITION AWARDS
CEREMONY
The 3rd edition of the IGEM competition ended with a gold medal for the
"NeuronArch" project of the interdisciplinary team Pasteur Paris 2018, which this
year includes students from ENSCI's specialised master's degree in Creation and
Contemporary Technology supervised by the designer Guillian Graves.
In parallel, the first "MOS(kit)O" project (2016), designed by another Pasteur Paris
team, this time with students in Industrial Design from ENSCI, and also awarded a
gold medal 3 years ago, is currently being incubated in "Le Grand Bain", ENSCI's
design incubator.
THREE SPECIAL MENTIONS AT THE BRAUN PRIZE 2018 HONOUR ENSCI
The Braun Prize, which takes place every three years, celebrated its 50th
anniversary in 2018 with the theme: "Design for what matters". Reem Saleh,
Guillaume Jandin (graduated in 2015) and the ENSCI team Xavier Montoy, Lisa
Dehove, Charlène Guillaume each received a special mention for their project.
ENSCI AND DESIGN PARADE: A BUSINESS THAT LASTS
Among the 10 finalists chosen by the Design Parade jury at Villa Noailles this year,
there are two ENSCI graduates in Industrial Design: Pablo Bras and Alexandre
Willaume.

VELAZQUEZ VILLAS
Villa Villa offered to see the work of the residents of these three villas around the
theme: Borders. Claire Lavabre, graduate in Industrial Design (ENSCI), for Villa
Medicis, Laureline Galliot & Mathieu Peyroulet-Ghilini graduates in Industrial
Design (ENSCI) for Villa Kujoyama, represent the design category of these
residences for the year 2017/2018.
QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING – CATEGORY « ART AND DESIGN »
ENSCi ranks first among French schools - in the "Art and Design" category - in the
annual QS (QS world University Rankings) world ranking. In addition, Le Monde,
L'Étudiant, Étapes, France Inter... - have promoted our graduates and, by
extension, the reputation of ENSCI.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND CULTURE OF THE PROJECT AT THE ITALIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE
The Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, in collaboration with ENSCI-Les Ateliers and
with the support of the Permanent Delegation of Italy to the OECD, hosted a
round table entitled "Design per la sostenibilita e cultura del progetto" last March.
Frida Doveil, Ezio Manzini and François Jegou discussed sustainable
development at the material, social and cultural levels, as well as the notion of
project culture dear to Italian design in the 1980s.
SOCIAL PROJECTS…
A MOBILE RADIO IN CALAIS
In collaboration with France Culture and Radio France, this project led by Roland
Cahen, enabled 14 ENSCI students to develop a functional prototype of a mobile
radio, intended for migrant camps in Calais. Once completed and tested, the
functional prototype was given to the volunteers of Secours Catholique and
Accueil de Jour in Calais in order to record the first live broadcast by the refugees
on 31 January 2018.
« PRO-CITY STORY », A SOCIAL INNOVATION WORKSHOP CONDUCTED WITH STUDENTS
IN THE PARIS SUBURBS
The LKEcowork association, founded by Laure Kuntzinger, is carrying out a social
integration project in a 200 m2 space located in a district of Malakoff in the Paris
suburbs. Three missions: academic support, professional integration, social
integration through sport. The members of the association: mothers, children and
teenagers.
The idea of this workshop with ENSCI students supervised by the designer
Philippe Comte: to understand the association through and with its users in order
to try to improve its organisation, its functioning and to highlight its members.
Design with notions of transmission and economy of means.
EXHIBITIONS…
« EXPERIENCES SENSIBLES »: WHEN ALESSI MEETS ENSCI
Designed at ENSCI and in partnership with the Alessi brand, the projects express
new uses and domestic objects, anchored in the Alessi universe, sensitive and
open to new technologies.
A selection of 20 student projects presented 2 thematic approaches: connected
objects for some, synesthetic proposals for others. These works were included in
the exhibition "Expériences sensibles" at the Salon Maison et Objet in Paris in
September 2018.
THREE ENSCI GRADUATES HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A PROJECT FOR 2040 WITH VEOLIA
ENSCI's "Accelérateur" scheme supports young graduates towards the
professional world through the development of a project in partnership with an
industrial or institutional partner. For Veolia, three graduates have imagined
solutions to meet the city's challenges in 2040 in terms of food, energy and
pollution.
THE PROJECT « FUGUE » OF ENSCI WAS AT THE SALON PREMIERE VISION ACCESSORIES
Under the project name "Fugue", the students of the school's Textile Design
department presented their projects, highlighting the accessories of the Parisian
Première Vision show with keywords.
